Hey Everyone!
We’ve got a meow-nificent update for you all today!
Let’s start with some pawsitive news. Ammon, Melanie, and I (Mathue Ryann) just returned from SPIEL Essen, where Cats vs Cucumbers turned plenty of heads and got a lot of interest from international publishers!
There aren’t any deals to announce just yet, but we’re feeling hopeful that we’ll have something exciting to share soon. We also managed to snag a photo of the full Cats vs Cucumbers team while at the event. Check it out below!
Production Update
Our manufacturer just confirmed that production is ahead of schedule! Cats vs Cucumbers is now set to finish production on November 4th, that’s less than a week away! 🎉
Locking Orders
With production wrapping up, it’s time to lock in everyone’s orders. We’ve sent out a 48 hour notice today, so if you haven’t completed your pledge manager survey, please do so as soon as possible.

Charging Cards & Locking Addresses
Once orders are locked, we’ll charge credit cards and lock addresses on November 3rd. If your payment method fails, BackerKit will automatically notify you to update your payment method, once fixed, it will charge your updated card automatically.
We’re doing this now so we can finalize our backer list by region, send that info to our manufacturer, and ensure the correct quantities are sent to each fulfillment zone.
Fulfillment Timeline
After production wraps and orders are split for each region, we’ll begin booking and arranging ocean freight to our fulfillment hubs.
Here’s what to expect:
International orders (except UK): Fulfilled from our fulfillment partner in China (likely late November or early December). UK and US orders: Shipping by ocean freight, which takes a bit longer. Once freight is booked and underway, we’ll share a more detailed delivery timeline in our next update.

Before we wrap up, we have exciting news to announce about more games we've worked together on! We will be launch the Tiny Game Series Vol. 2 on the Envy Born Games Kickstarter page early next year!

UPDATE #10: Video from manufacturer and stuff

Hey everyone!
We got a video from our manufacturer showing off the pre-production sample of Cats vs Cucumbers! We are SO excited with the final design of the box, the components and everything.
You can watch that video here:
NOTE: We don't like the cardboard/paper inserts, those were a recommended solution from our manufacturer for organization, but we are not going to use those.
We also received images of the Killer Kitten meeples! Check these out!
We should receive an image of the final plush, and the dice tray in the next few days. We will share that when it arrives.
Once we receive these samples and approve them, we will immediately move into full production on this game.

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

At Envy Born Games, we’ve got something exciting on the horizon, and yes, it involves KATS! But not the kind you’re used to… this time we’re talking about Meerkats! 🐾

We want to kick off this update with a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has backed the campaign. Your support means the world to us. This project wouldn’t be possible without you, and we’re so grateful to have you on this journey with us.
Next Steps
At Gen Con, we had a great meeting with our manufacturer, Boda Games Manufacturing, to review all the components for Cats vs Cucumbers. We’re now preparing the final production files to send their way so they can begin making physical samples. These samples will allow us to verify the quality of every piece of the game.
Once we’ve approved the samples, we’ll move forward into full production. We’ll also be able to provide a clearer timeline at that point. From here on out, we’ll be sharing monthly updates to keep you informed on our progress and make sure you're in the loop every step of the way.
Contest Results
WOW! We had an amazing turnout for our Cat Name Tag Contest. Over 135+ adorable cats were submitted, and we’re so grateful to everyone who entered!
We received votes from 702 unique users, totaling 2,507 votes cast. While only 10 cats could make it to the top, we truly believe every single entry was a winner in our book.
The voting was incredibly close, with just one vote separating the Grand Prize Winner from second place! Huge congratulations to everyone who participated, and an extra big shoutout to Sony the Kayaking Kitty for taking the top spot!
